It starts using 1 GB right on startup and then increases by 20-50 MB every second. We are going to overhaul how we publish these protection updates so that this never happens again.Same here, woke up this morning to discover my pc was running ridiculously slow, and even my taskbar was frozen, also had a popup open called "Host Proccess for windows Tasks" however it was blank as if it froze, and i now assume that it was windows warning me that i was low on memory, opened task manager with ctrl+shift+esc, and noticed it opened in a low memory usage mode, as many options were greyed out, and only the "Details" tab was available, at which point i noticed the mbamservice.exe was eating all of my ram, how windows didn't blue-screen i have no idea (i use windows 8.1 though, and i honestly never had a single blue-screen with it, ever, i've had blue-screens with every single other version of windows, but i've never had it happen in 8.
